Fast System Matrix Generation Using the Detector Response Function Model on Fermi GPUs

چکیده
Introduction A system matrix with high accuracy is essential when applying iterative reconstruction algorithms like MLEM and OSEM in PET imaging. However, using Monte Carlo simulations may not always be feasible, as they take a considerable amount of time. The detector response function (DRF) model has proven to be a good alternative [1]. Further accelerating the execution of this model is beneficial, as it allows to rapidly calculate system matrices and thus estimate the performance of scanner prototypes.

Fast System Matrix Calculation in CT Iterative Reconstruction
Introduction: Iterative reconstruction techniques provide better image quality and have the potential for reconstructions with lower imaging dose than classical methods in computed tomography (CT). However, the computational speed is major concern for these iterative techniques. The system matrix calculation during the forward- and back projection is one of the most time- cons...

Distributed generation (DG) will play an important role in future power generation systems, especially in stand-alone applications. Three phase four-leg inverter is a well-known topology which can be used as an interface power converter for DGs. Thanks to the fourth leg to provide the neutral path, the four-leg inverter is able to supply balanced loads as well as unbalanced loads. In this paper...
متن کاملA model based, anatomy dependent method for ultra-fast creation of primary SPECT projections
Introduction: Monte Carlo (MC) is the most common method for simulating virtual SPECT projections. It is useful for optimizing procedures, evaluating correction algorithms and more recently image reconstruction as a forward projector in iterative algorithms; however, the main drawback of MC is its long run time. We introduced a model based method considering the eff...

متن کاملINVERSE FREQUENCY RESPONSE ANALYSIS FOR PIPELINES LEAK DETECTION USING THE PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION
Inverse Transient Analysis (ITA) is a powerful approach for leak detection of pipelines. When the pipe transient flow is analyzed in frequency domain the ITA is called Inverse Frequency Response Analysis (IFRA). To implement an IFRA for leak detection, a transient state is initiated in the pipe by fast closure of the downstream end valve. Then, the pressure time history at the valve location is...
